About Anna Lappé
Anna Lappé is a national best-selling author, television host, and public speaker, widely respected for her work on food and sustainability. She is the daughter of author and activist Frances Moore Lappé, who wrote Diet for a Small Planet, a classic that has inspired millions of people to eat better for the health of their bodies and the earth.
With her mother, Anna co-authored Hope’s Edge: The Next Diet for a Small Planet, and founded the Small Planet Institute, a collaborative network for research and popular education, and the Small Planet Fund, which has given away nearly half a million dollars to democratic social movements worldwide.
Anna is also the author of Diet for a Hot Planet: The Climate Crisis at the End of Your Fork and What You Can Do About It and co-author of Grub: Ideas for an Urban Organic Kitchen. She has been named one of Time’s “Eco” Who’s Who, and has been featured in the New York Times and other national publications.
Nourishing the Next Generation
Through her work as an author and speaker, Anna is inspiring the next generation of eaters, cooks, and activists to build a better food system. In Grub, Anna and chef Bryant Terry show readers how to vote with their forks and offer recipes for delicious, healthful, and eco-conscious menus.
In Diet for a Hot Planet, she illuminates the connections between climate change and our global food system. Visiting farms around the world–from China to Mali to her hometown of Brooklyn–she paints a picture of the global sustainable agriculture movement, and provides ideas on how we can take part through climate-friendly food choices.
