Nourish California is a bold, new initiative designed to increase food literacy and build healthy communities. The nonprofit program provides free educational resources (video, curriculum, website) for use in California’s K-12 schools. During the next two years, our goal is to serve thousands of teachers and more than one million students.
Nourish California supports educators who want to open a meaningful conversation about food and sustainability. California’s K-12 teachers, school administrators, farm-to-school and garden coordinators, food service staff, health professionals, and nonprofit support providers are eligible to receive a free Nourish DVD and companion curriculum.
The vision of Nourish California is to build a statewide network of good food advocates who can directly contribute to the health of their schools and communities. A key goal is to document and share innovative ideas and best practices that emerge from the network.
If you are a parent, let your child’s school know about these free educational resources. If you represent a school, district, or nonprofit, contact us to discover how Nourish California can support your teaching and learning.
